It's Halloween Time!

post signatureSo as you might know, we had a "not so scary" Halloween party at our house this weekend! I've never really decorated for Halloween because I have always have way to much fall decor, but I will admit that it was a lot of fun!  I love to bake and decorate so I immediately put my skills to work.

First, I had to decide on a Halloween invite. Doesn't sound that hard right? Well for me it was.  It's the first impression that the guests get & you want it to be themed appropriately.  So I went searching for all sorts of designs and finally had someone design an invite for me that looked like this:

Next came the DECORATING and I mean decorating!  My secret passion of decorating goes back to my elementary school days.  Every season, every holiday, every everything you could ever think of.. I will decorate for it!  I painted the pumpkins first then decided I needed an banner to match.

So, I started making a menu several weeks before the party.  I knew that I wanted to make lots of "themed" desserts & snacks but I also wanted "real food".  Another passion of mine is eating just about anything. Of course Southern foods, especially mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese; my mouth waters just thinking about it! Okay we need to focus.  I made a list of about 20 different menu items and made a grocery list. I started baking 2 days before to make sure that I would have enough time to finish all of the wonderful food.  I also had a special helper to help me.

And then we took a break to dress up the dogs in their costumes...

Then there was lots & lots of decorating & baking going on..

Mini Pumpkin Pies

Pumpkin Mousse

No Bake Cookies

Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Pumpkin Icing

Chocolate Mice

Pumpkin Bread & Banana Bread

Yellow Cake Pops & Red Velvet Cake Pops

Here is a picture of the Mini Blueberry Pies

Greek Pasta Salad, Chocolate Chocolate Cake, & the Pumpkin Mousse

Kitty Litter Cake
We even had enough time to carve pumpkins!!! Of course we had to carve a Mickey Mouse Pumpkin. Cham decided to make his own design :) and Jaydyn decided to make a Disco Pose.

Here is the finished product! Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Hopefully I will be able to post some DIY's & Recipes that I used to make our First Annual Halloween Party a Success!
